Converse College, an accredited institution of higher education,
offers eight online professional development mathematics education courses.
Intended for certified teachers who are seeking recertification. Individuals should contact their state department of education or school district to determine if these courses are acceptable for recertification. These courses present graduate-level mathematical pedagogy, together with math content for the elementary and secondary teacher consistent with NCTM standards. Each course awards 3 graduate credits (500 level or higher).
These courses are NOT designed to satisfy requirements for those seeking to teach at the community college level or above, or for dual enrollment.
DVDs are provided for each course. The activities, practice sets, quizzes and the final exam are administered online
Participants may register at any time, work at their own pace, and take up to nine months to complete course requirements.
Courses can
be taken concurrently and transcripts are available as soon as a
course is completed.
Cost per course includes tuition fees and the DVDs. The required textbooks must be purchased separately.
